The Mexican government is not nearly as leftist as everyone pretends. My son's lawyer has a wall of successful suits against American companies so why do they fire people illegally? Because of the blacklist, among other reasons. Cultural Impunity. Because they can.

If it matters to you, my son is HIV+, neurodiverse, and was illegally fired from Walmart without explanation. He's currently suing but it's a long process, and in the meantime, workers who sue their employers are put on a public black list.

I've said it before but it is absolutely absurd for any mainstream critic to claim they know shit about gay cinema without using, let's say, alternative distribution outlets. There's too much out there and the vast majority is way underseen, even by specialists. BL stuff alone...whew.

It was harder than I though it would be to snag a decent quality copy of this arguably essential and certainly singular movie.

As I've said about a billion times, stateside gay writers have a distinct euro-gringo bias

As soon as they start asking for pronouns, which is generally during introductions, we're out the door.

Agreed that their online personas are inevitably narrower and shriller, especially on Twitter, and also I feel compelled to avoid any event labeled queer. Thankfully, my son, who's 21 and gay, doesn't holds no truck for woo woo of any kind, but is out and proud. So, there's Hope.

Well, if you were talking about our generations, I'd be with you. But I guess I'm a grandpa in thinking this but "queer youth" right now seem to be whiny, spoiled, entitled, and their own worst problem.

I can't keep up, really. I remember when most gay movies (VHS) were sold via tiny ads in the classifieds in the back of gay rags. Porn too
