I was really trying to figure out the price since it is more of a laptop processor and GPU combo but I think 699 makes sense. I really can't see something touching 1k/ I'd be surprised if that happened

Oh, I have special circumstances where I can save money (friend in the area and currently due to family I don't have to pay for west coast flights) Without those things I would not being going. I also have always seen these trips as vacationing (terrible, I know)

Especially with gamescom, as I mainly go to these for networking (really I just like seeing friends) so I may end up doing the "hang around the event but not actually buy the ticket" thing as I made most of my meaningful connections outside of the actual venue.

I feel the metroidvania part deeply. I have such a hard getting into them and I have yet to finish any of them that I bought (Hollow Knight, Nine Sols, Animal Well)

I like this approach as well! It is interesting because I used to determine what game I'd buy based on reviews, and now it is purely based on vibes and word of mouth.
