In Oregon, I have to watch Merkley rally the faithful in an ill-fitting suit and unkempt hair. Yet he’s held up as the great liberal hope. They’ve had a decade to get this right. You turned it around in less time.

Buttigieg could have owned this lane from Day One, giving fireside chats and daily briefings and the like. It would have had the administration off-balance and likely stiffened spines in the Senate. The fact Democrats seem incapable of speaking plainly and directly into a camera is malpractice.

What I don’t get is the focus on media rather than on the generational wealth staring him in the face. There’s no money in saying “I coulda been Santo but that’s too woke.”

Usually I’ll ask when’s the last time someone flew commercial. Or when’s the last time they walked past Row 6. This dude though…He should know better.

It was an over the air thing. We had it in Portland. They’d scramble Channel 22 in the evening. By parents got it. They’d show typical hbo-type fare until 11 or so. After that, a maturing young Chris would occasionally stay up late to get a VERY unscrambled education.
