Morning all 🌈☕

Been working on updating my website to include all my new mini paintings so I haven't had much time to create new large paintings for you 🥹 sorry!

Here's an old winter #painting I did a couple of years ago that I love💜

Yasmin has painted a beautiful Parisian winter scene of a person in a dark raincoat with bright red umbrella and boots. They stare up at the bottom third of the Eiffel Tower in Paris as the snow falls of a dusky evening. The painted scene is framed with winter trees with white snow lying on the branches and red winter berries- reminiscent of a Christmas tree with understated traditional tinsel and baubles. Another watercolour practice! This time working with negative painting!

Im enjoying the dark background and the vibrancy of the flowers which I didn't think I'd be able to achieve with watercolour! And the glass 😍

I've been learning all about watercolour and last week I jumped in courageously and have been practicing my portraiture!

I took a photo at the end of each phase because I felt I may mess it up at any moment 🤭😂

I managed to get 30 minutes in the secret garden! Did a quick tour and 2 layers of paint in the sketchbook before it closed!

A few cursed watercolour penguins. Animals seem to be quite fun to paint I call this my cafe spread! Croissants, baguettes and coffee! Food seems to work too! Had a little bit of fun using drawings of little people to spell the word LOVE! Colour blocking in this one! Began with just paint sticks blocking in the larger shapes. I then went in with a fineliner to add the details to the shape and a bit of shading. Finally adding the words "Manifesting what you deserve". A nice peaceful page for a relaxing sketchbook club session

A little trip to the Modern One Art Gallery in Edinburgh yesterday.
A wonderful exhibition by Everlyn Nicodemus! Even managed a double page spread in the sketchbook!

"Everything is Going to be Alright" is illuminated on the front of Modern One Art Gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. But this piece of work was created in 1992! 🤭 3 of my favorite pieces of work by Everlyn Nicodemus. I loved the oranges, blues and dark teal colours My sketchbook spread completed on site. 2 of the artists' quotes that resonated with me: "For me, art is an individual revolution" and "No, I can!" On the left a copy of her self portrait and on the right a copy of 6 of her paintings from the blue room. All using paint sticks and paint pens from my travel art kit!

Lots of Washi tape was used because I loved the floral botanical pattern! Yasmin's sketchbook with two seascape drawings. I will probably choose the day time one to paint in acrylic as a tutorial for an upcoming paint class!
