One thing is clear: Every single US soldier in Europe becomes a legal millitary target.

This is how ICE agents responded after watching a mother of three bleed out in her car after they shot her multiple times in the head.

Some ways Europe quickly can make it costly for USA to take control over Greenland:
-Suspend ASML/ZEISS optics export to USA
-Implement airspace and port restriction for US trade
-Expell US forces from European soil
-Leave the northern parts of the GIUK gap open
-SWIFT restrictions

Ok. So they would need to move in a noticable force first. But could they start by taking control over Greenland by "administering" some smaller areas, and gradualy widen the area under US control? (The point I want to make, is that we shouldn't wait for a fysical attack trigger before responding)

Any attacker of Greenland would be considered a legal millitary target.

I don't see a fysical millitary attack from USA as likely. Would it not be more likely that the US will just stop recognizing Danish power in the area and take administrative control over the area they already are present in? Which (sadly) forces Denmark/Greenland to fire the first shot.

When someone attacks Greenland (no matter who it is) the discussions are over, the forces of the attacking country are now a legal millitary target.

Before they was attacked themselves, the French went to Norway, together with British and Polish forces, to fight the Germans

Since we know the submarines are German and the rocket artillery purchase seem to be following in parallel, I would not be surprised if the German GMARS is chosen.

It was the Norwegian, Håkon Jarl that helped Vladimir the great to conquer Novgorod around 977, so the Norwegian claim to Russian oil is strong...
