Ignoring other replies, sure it's been pointed out, but Die Hard is most definitely an xmas film. Just look at some of the dialogue! “Now I Have A Machine Gun. Ho Ho Ho.”, "“I Got Invited To The Christmas Party By Mistake", “Just Once, I’d Like A Regular, Normal Christmas!” - to quote but a few.

Duuuude! Only place I've seen an actual copy of the original HHGTTG text adventure was in the Berlin Computer Museum! That game demanded you had already read to books to get anywhere in it as well! Sure I had it as part of some infocom collection or such-like.

Nice :) I have one of those! Literally never switched it on since it joined my collection many years ago though. Even have the manuals for it!

I think it is a Scotland thing, lol. I seem to remember him actually punching MJ! Could be a Mandella affect, we must come from 2 different dimensions where one of those things happened - this dimension is more boring!

6/6 This will lead to a world filled with misinformation that is seen as fact (wait...are we already there?). AI is a closed system, subject to entropy. It's us that teach it so it is as flawed as our collective consciousness.

I hope this cheered you all up as much as it did my team this morning ;p

5/6 Those flaws show themselves as "hallucinations" in some cases. LLMs are very creative and so will start adding or omitting things as a conversation evolves and the user must have some sort of base knowledge to recognise that and the course correct the AI. This can lead to false information.
November 20, 2024 at 11:19 AM
4/6 Companies are jumping on the AI bandwagon, assuming it will save them money through gains in efficiency or straight up replacing humans. Right now AI is about as flawed as the old phone systems you used to get like "say the name of the film you would like to see" which used voice recognition.
November 20, 2024 at 11:19 AM
3/6 Companies adopting AI are not reporting on AI usage in their environmental impact! So it wont be Skynet that ends civilisation, no, instead it will be us just trying to POWER Skynet. And when we turn it on and ask it "How do we fix this mess", the answer will be "TURN ME OFF!"
November 20, 2024 at 11:19 AM
2/6 The main problem is with energy use. Companies are recommissioning decommissioned nuclear power plants in order to power AI. Gigantic server warehouses are being filled with AI chips. For every response you get from AI you are burning masses of energy. This isn't scalable.
