There is a mod (ninten-drawer, I think) that replaces the connector by a drawer that avoids that the pins get bent when inserting the cartridge (don't know if it's any good, though).

Maybe this is unreasonable, but couldn't they be double-faced? One face with a type and power/toughness, the other with the art only? That way they can be used as squirrel tokens or the other type.
