I thought this film was fantastic. The tension, the many twists and turns, and the dark comedy are done very well within its themes around relationship dynamics, control and the growing role of AI Technology and its potential impacts- it made it an interesting film to say the least.

Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire
That scene with the Clown in the basement was phenomenal in how scary it was; un-nerving for sure. The film itself is not as good as the first one, but it was still capable at bringing the creepiness via spooky scenes like that.

Haute Tension
Well its high on tension as the film title says. High on scariness and high on gore too. That twist though- you can see the idea behind it, and its certainly shocking when the reveal comes. Feel conflicted on it though. its a very good film, but the twist Im less sure on.

The Outwaters
So torn on this one. Its too long and its hard to see anything during when it gets to the scary stuff, so you don’t really know what's going on. I did however like how creepy it was, the sound design is fantastic and its ambitious in what it attempts. Just maybe too ambitious.

The Nun II
Its better than the first one- its quite good. I think it helps that in as well as doing an excellent job at been atmospheric like the first one, this one has a bit more happen in it. Its got more action and more scares- Id certainly say out of the two this is the scariest one.

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions
Mixed bag overall. I think the plot in the original is better; this one gets a bit more outlandish, but I think the puzzle rooms in this one are better so it kind of evens out compared to the original film- its pretty fun when it sticks to the Escape Rooms.

Once Bitten
A decent and largely fun film while also been Jim Carrey’s first major role. Even then his ability to do Slapstick Comedy is already prominent here- he's pretty good in this. It has also a fantastic dance scene that was entertaining. The soundtrack is great too.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Its quite a weird combination yet it does end up working well, I cant say I wasn’t entertained. Helps that its got a great cast (though Sam Riley isn’t a great Darcy and it needed more Matt Smith) and plenty of dry comedy throughout. It is a fun movie.

Has a few interesting ideas and some decent scares (though it relies a lot on Jump Scares), but despite that it still ends up as quite the middling movie since it doesn’t make much use of its ideas. Feels like it could have done more with its premise.

Mixing Found Footage with Exorcisms works great here. Plus the fantastic performance from Patrick Fabian who as Reverend Cotton Marcus aims to disapprove exorcisms. Leads to a very interesting and scary times movie that's lets down a bit via its ending. Still a very good film.

Boys from County Hell
The blending in of Irish Folklore into the Vampire Lore of this Comedy Horror movie makes for quite an interesting twist on the Vampire genre. Film is a bit disjointed, but it was a fun and at times witty movie. The setting works well too.

Escape Room
I get what they were attempting with the late twist- its just not that well implemented. A shame since the rest of the film is very good. I really liked the variety in the rooms, led to some great action set pieces.

Tales of Terror
Pretty good anthology set of gothic horror based off Edgar Allan Poe stories. Vincent Price who appears in all 3 of the stories is great as always. Can’t forget that excellent performance from the Cat in Story 2 (The Black Cat) either.

I wasn’t expecting much but to be fair it isn’t terrible, however it isn’t good either. David Howard Thornton seems like he had a great time though and his experience as Art in the Terrifier films means he's pretty good here when the slasher aspect is utilised.

Color Out of Space

Amazing its the only film Charles Laughton directed- its really good. Guess that means he has a 100% record for great films. Its great in large part due to Robert Mitchum and his excellent performance as the Preacher. He has such a terrifying presence throughout the film.

Five Nights at Freddy's
Its ok. I only played a bit of the games (was never that good at them) so I don’t know much of the FNAF lore, though Im surprised the animatronics aren’t in it more. Was pretty creepy at times (such as the yellow rabbit). Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard great overall.

Five Nights at Freddy's
Its ok. I only played a bit of the games (was never that good at them) so I don’t know much of the FNAF lore, though Im surprised the animatronics aren’t in it more. Was pretty creepy at times (such as the yellow rabbit). Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard great overall.

Scream 3
Its the weakest of the Scream series for me (though Ive yet to see 4) since it feels a bit like diminishing returns. Unsure about the big twist at the end either, but the film still has some positives such as the Carrie Fisher cameo, the film rules scene and Sidney’s storyline.
