Putting my thought here rather than gathering material for How to Lose Friends and Failing to Influencing People.
An important note here is that that's barely above minimum wage in Seattle.

A lot of states require balanced budgets, so they can't help. The bill cut funding for non-profits, so they won't be able to backfill as they have before.

The feds might do it because they know their followers will lap it up and say they stepped up without considering that they broke everything.

A little is good, but the entire premise of the article is that it's going to be VERY bad!

And that's just food. Energy prices keep rising. Rent keeps rising. We know the feds won't help. States can't help. Non-profits lost funding.

We're in for a world of hurt.

Oh yeah, eating more processed food is definitely going to fit well with MAHA.

First of all, they're basically saying they'll "clean up" encampments that are in more public areas, so it's not a more comprehensive effort.

Second of all, Google is free

Unless they are providing comprehensive assistance—housing, a stipend, mental and regular healthcare, workforce development, substance abuse services, individual social worker case managers, etc.—THEMSELVES, people are going to fall through the cracks again.

We have countless examples alrrady.

one of the advantages of reflexively hating transphobes is that you're only gonna get more correct as they keep going

And then we get to add in what Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s policies will exact. Death, disability, increased care costs, more burned out doctors and nurses leaving the profession.

And to think, you support him.

I hope you never get a good night of sleep, because you don't deserve one.

You'd think that as a social worker you'd have had to do bias training and as a result found out that everyone has biases.

How are the press supposed to hold people to account if they don't have a set of moral codes and the biases that result from that?

I wish it was only Miller, but the last few years shows that there are millions who agree with him.

Taylor Lorenz says what?
This is an Instagram reel debunking the Wired story and also pointing out that Lorenz gets $8k a month from one of the orgs she complains about

How is it fair that Michael Phelps has the advantages he does?

There are women basketball players who are 6'6+; how is that not an advantage?

We have the science showing how trans women athletes' bodies are affected by hormones as well as plenty of data showing they aren't dominating sports.

Cassie Bernall spent her last moments praying under a table 26 years ago and we've had hundreds of deaths at schools and places of worship. Were those killed not praying hard enough? Did God find those people unworthy?
