This is the last thing my mother sent me this evening. Sierra Madre, CA. They’re being evacuated currently but this was the view from the north corner of their block. Concerned for their safety as they drive down the foothills tonight.

So, there was a 6.8 quake just off the coast of CA 15 minutes ago, and we all got this terrifying alert:

Got to a good point yesterday. 6/8 voices work. It’s hard to trigger the last two anyway.
Ran it thru the Valhalla Supermassive for full Vangelis effect and definitely had a moment. Now I need to spend some time figuring out what to call “Vanjealousy”.

New(er) tiny jumper. This stuff is so satisfying to wire up.

Figures. Last pot was just bad. Swapped out for a new one (and a tinier jumper). New one works beautifully. Now we get to plug it in and see if it makes sound. Finally!

Tiny wiring adventure for today is all done. One slider pot left to fix tomorrow—looks like a grounding issue.
At this point all working repairs have been to bad traces. I had to reflow so many SMCs to get here 😭

Aaand now those sliders work.
