The other factor is that apartments are less risky. Condo builders have to sell a bunch of individual units, while apartment builders can usually pre-sell the entire building to an apartment leasing company

They better get ready to litigate that when Trump's people violate it.

Republicans are definitely more afraid of their base. Both because they can and will primary them, and quite literally because of death threats they face if they go against Trump.

At the end of the day, some of them just don't have the stomach to continue the fight even once the pain from cancelled travel sinks in. They're too worried about being blamed for it, even as most voters still blame Republicans. Except this time, Schumer has no excuse like in June for caving.

No extension of subsidies, not even a temporary one. A vote in December to extend ACA subsidies and offer furlough relief (which they'll lose, even assuming the House goes along with it). They'll have nothing to show for the fight.

They've been going to great lengths to make sure the military gets paid, including illegal moves of funds.

I bet if they’d gotten the 5 seasons, it would have happened (plus probably a scene where Portagaz is arguing with Thrawn over ISB-Naval Intelligence jurisdiction)

We really need a law with some clarification on that, and that will have big impacts on LLM AI deployment. If it's a "don't send out these records" situation, then most LLM deployments at these bigger orgs will be deployed locally and limited to what they can afford in servers.

I can understand it from investors. They're not necessarily thinking about it being The Singularity, but rather being the next Google or Facebook: an utterly dominant Tech Giant in its own field from a network effect that prints money and has incredibly high share value. Or even the next Microsoft

I want that or “Master and Commander but Star Wars”

The funniest thing about Trump's involvement in this is that his first instinctive move apparently was to deal - from what I've read, he was okay with extending the subsidies for the budget until Miller et al told him he would Be Weak if they did.

It's a useful way for Musk to boost the paper assets of Tesla. Invest a couple billion in xAI, and then every time it gets revalued at a higher valuation Tesla's share of it goes up in value as well.

And of course the share price can always be pushed up again, with another announcement about Optimus or Robotaxis.
November 7, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Anyways, my prediction is that the Q4 sales and profitability for Tesla will be godawful, b/c they moved as many sales forward into Q3 as they could to get better sales numbers going into his vote. No doubt the share price will take a big hit from it - but Musk will still have won the package.
November 7, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Musk himself pretty clearly doesn't give much of a shit about Tesla anymore, and sees it mostly as a vehicle to funnel resources into his privately held AI startup. Some investors tried to bring that up but it didn't matter.
November 7, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Musk has basically created an entire ecosystem of people whose wealth depends on hyping him - and putting more money in to keep things going if Tesla flags too much in share price. It's not surprising they passed the pay package, since they need Musk to drive the share price up.

Putting this out there in case they beat Texas Tech 35-31, and then lose 49-14 against TCU the week after.

I hope they actually paid the money to get Rachel Weisz back if they’re bringing OG cast back. That third movie just did not work without her rapport with Fraser and Hannah on screen
