In 1st Edition Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, there is a brief mention of Liadriel, an androgynous elven god whose cult is tended by the wood elves. Their disposition seems to be rather Dionysian, their sacred symbols being both wineskin and lute. #warhammerfantasy #whfrp #elves #ttrpg #oldworld

Could anyone tell me what exactly this would have been used for? Found it after clearing tons of thicket and non native trees from my land. This had been inaccessible before I moved in. Neighbour said it was probably a cold store or related to livestock. Any ideas? #ireland #history #witchsky

Today’s curiosity: Early Modern examples of automata. The tarnished machinery, the rotten filigree, the rigid motions and chipped porcelain. Glorious

I’ve always enjoyed this description of the nature of elven deities and their expression through religious iconography being more granular than that of humankind. A god having many different statuary aspects, including an androgynous form, is so cool.

Currently obsessing over both the complexity and simplicity of old ironwork and stonecraft. Everything from wonky medieval iron keys, to spirals and carved stone anchors and axe heads. 🗝️🗿
