A "setInterval" Mistake That Froze My Laptop In one of our desktop apps, we used setInterval to periodically collect device info using scripts. It worked fine initially, but after a few hours of running, the laptop froze and needed a hard restart. 🔍 The issue? setInterval was firing repeatedly without waiting for the previous task to finish — causing overlaps, memory issues, and eventually, a system hang. ✅ Fix: Replaced setInterval with a recursive setTimeout, calling itself only after the current task completed. This ensured one execution at a time and fixed the stability issue. Question: Have you run into problems using setInterval in long-running apps? How did you handle it?
