Curious why you say that. Any examples?

It is supposed to be more web-like yeah?

I need to update to it from react-native-navigation and just happened to see your post.

If you’re in need of an innovation and experimentation leader, maker and breaker, tinkerer and thinker-er, hit me up.

I love #python and #devops and #containers and modernizing whole teams and mentoring software devs and #expo and #reactnative and being a force multiplier.

And so much more.

I think my next barrier is not knowing Tailwind. I get it, but seems daunting to learn all the magic classes to use.

Def mine by far.

I wanted to try NW and RNR too recently but have read there are noticeable performance hits for pretty much everything outside of vanilla Stylesheets.

Noticed any? Of significance?

I’m in the same boat. Besides some neat little tricks inserting basic algorithms, I don’t quite get why people go nuts over this.

I want it to do grunt shit.

So the more I play with #github #copilot and "ai coding assistants" I realize I'd rather them do mundane things like "upgrade this app to latest Expo SDK". But when I try that is most often when I see it choke.

I wouldn't exactly ask for help from a co-worker if they *stopped* learning in 2023.

So ... what ... hmm. I feel dumb asking but what SHOULD it do for me?

Is there something I'm missing to tap into "this awesome new power" everyone raves about? It seems hamstrung.

I'd ask it to help build a social login page, but can't trust it to be best pattern for 2025.

By the time I figure out how to ask it questions it can do from knowledge frozen in 2023, I could do this all myself just searching the web and docs.

It keeps trying to actually downgrade me because it only "knows" things up to Oct 2023. So it wants to downgrade me to Expo 49.

I can't ask it about Expo Router patterns because it doesn't know much about it.

So, isn’t this actually a huge problem? I don’t mean technically. I mean ethically? Legally?

I’m waiting for the Armageddon when the code generated by all these “ai” violate licenses galore by directly copying licensed code with no attribution or adherence to license terms. It’s coming.

Been there! 😖

I can’t get into it this year. Just not biting me and pulling me in to do the puzzles.

Probably burnout from job searching and inane interview processes lately lol.

I would definitely choose #python though if I were.

Nice!

I went to go take a look. Seems like you might be down.

Look forward to checking it out.

I wrote about the human side of code reviews. Let me find it — it was internal to a previous role but I always meant to publish it on my site.

I’ll share soon.

Just started full time as Chief Engineer at a startup my data science friend created. #python behind the scenes. #reactnative mobile app(s). And more fun to come.

Always been a light framework guy but giving #Django a go on some nonprofit side work.

Building a #js game with my brother soon.

You?
