I should say that I think part of Pogi's Merckx-esque grip on winning is mainly down to the fact he hasn't had a crash which seriously impacts/hampers his season and training.

Many of those riders are serving apprenticeships in smaller Euro Teams with help of #raynerfoundation. The pathway exists, it just doesn't exist in UK any more
