I would be inclined to agree however I have a nagging suspicion that Trump will legislate to allow it to be used to pay taxes. This would massively increase it's value and would mean with further sales that people were paying their taxes directly to the President.

More correctly, Meme coin currently has no transactional value. The next stage is to legislate to make it accepted as payment for taxes. Then the President will effectively receive people's taxes directly to his personal account!

It might be even worse than that. Trump could legislate to allow the coin to be used to pay taxes. This would then in effect mean that Americans were paying their taxes directly to him!

Wait until he declares that it can be used to pay taxes. Then people's taxes will in effect be directly paid to him!

Is tying up the best people in this field for the next 2-3 years with a public enquiry really the best way to tackle the problem? Will this not lead to more abuse? They have already told the government what needs to be done.
