The Thinest of Wedges

Left miss off the tee, poorly struck mid iron, bladed wedge 35 yards over the green, shitty chip, 3 putt kind of guy. I also take pictures.
Brutal… plain and simple

Honestly, what is ESPN just AI and bots now? What are they watching? It isn’t the same thing I am seeing.

The weather is turning, got to play my first official round this morning. Still have some work to do and adjustments to be made, but overall VERY happy with the first 18.

I spent the morning in Leven and was lucky enough to get paired with Dale and Kenny. These gents were the nicest, most welcoming people sharing their whiskey and course knowledge while I fumbled around for 18 holes. A shorter course, but a true links experience none the less.

The biggest surprise of my time in Scotland was Lundin. Situated next to the ocean, the warmup area is limited. The cages, perched next to the putting green, are more than adequate to work out the first tee jitters.

Worth calling out, the merchandise in the pro shot is elite. #Lundin

Group 2 is stellar… Roger is a dawg, excited to see if Soly is truly back, Gaby has fantastic game.

Side note: Super tough to not root for Trent daddy. Group 3 might be a collection of the most likable personalities in the golf YT space.

30,000 ft view, this is fucking great. No notes.

So when the PGA release pace of play data on folks, who do you think is the most egregious offender and why is it Aaron Rai?

Heading towards the sea, Elie began to shine. The routing was superb, making for a memorable walk. Capturing this scene resulted from glancing back rather than ahead. I'm truly grateful I turned around. #PhotoFriday #Elie

The afternoon, before heading home, I made it a point to walk through St. Andrew's. I meandered through various streets checking in on various shops and got a bite to eat at the Dunvegan Hotel. With the Old Course being open to walk, I found myself falling in love with the Himalayas putting club.

The first round on my Scotland trip I got to play was at Elie Golf Club. After a long flight, short drive from Edinburgh pulling into the car park didn't seem real. The clubhouse, starter's hut, a little cafe serving coffees and lunch it all seemed so surreal.

I was lucky (or determined) enough to spend a little time this past year golfing in Scotland. This remains one of the best views of the trip. 14th at Balcomie, an absolute view.
