11/ From a sinking set to a nearly mutinous crew, Titanic somehow made it through the storm. And in the end? James Cameron had the last laugh. 🎥🏆

10/ And then… Titanic released. What was once seen as a disaster became the highest-grossing film of all time, winning 11 Oscars and cementing its legacy.

9/ Even post-production had its drama. Studio execs wanted Cameron to cut an hour of the movie. He refused. "You want to fire me? You’ll have to kill me." They backed down.

8/ The culprit? Never caught. But Cameron managed to vomit before the drug fully hit, avoiding the worst of it.

7/ Then, the infamous soup incident. Someone spiked the crew’s chowder with PCP. Over 50 people, including Cameron, had to be rushed to the hospital. One crew member demanded a priest. Another led a conga line.

6/ Crew members started quitting. Cameron’s demanding style didn’t help. Three stuntmen broke bones. The whole thing was starting to feel cursed.

5/ And if that wasn’t enough, filming was brutal. Hours spent in freezing water led to colds, flu, and even kidney infections. Kate Winslet chipped a bone in her elbow and feared drowning.

4/ Engineers had to be called in to investigate. The issue? A bad weld on a crucial support leg. The ship set partially sank—an ironic twist that left expensive actors standing around.
March 5, 2025 at 4:25 PM
3/ The set was massive—housed in a 17M-gallon tank in Rosarito, Mexico. At one point, part of the ship actually collapsed, delaying filming and shaking actors’ confidence.
March 5, 2025 at 4:25 PM
2/ James Cameron was obsessed with authenticity. He filmed real Titanic wreckage, built a nearly full-scale ship model, and insisted on practical effects over CGI.
March 5, 2025 at 4:25 PM
1/ From the start, Titanic was doomed—at least according to the press. Headlines painted it as a disaster: budget overruns, a tyrannical director, and an over-ambitious vision.

9/10 Famous last words...

Francis Ford Coppola famously said:

“This film isn’t about Vietnam. It is Vietnam.”

The stress was so intense, he suffered an epileptic fit and suicidal thoughts during filming. 🤯

8/10 Are Actors entitled POS'?

Brando’s contract you ask?

$3.5 million for four weeks of work. He also demanded 11.5% of the film’s profits. 🤑💰

7/10 We're not done with Brando yet.

He also refused to work with Dennis Hopper, Who

Side note:
was supplied with cocaine to stay in character.

These two actors never shared a scene together. 🚫🎭

6/10 The show must go on!

Coppola had to feed Brando lines through an earpiece because he wouldn’t learn them.

Meanwhile, he was improvising scenes for hours, forcing Coppola to edit together something.....coherent. ⏳🎬

5/10 Now...Marlon Brando. A "method" actor.

Original Author description of his character:
weak, sickly, and gaunt.

Script version: strong, fit, military man.

Brando version: completely overweight.

On top of refusing to memorize lines and demanding to be filmed in shadows to HIDE HIS SIZE. 😬🎭
