Oh jeez. My first time on Bluesky in about a year, and I see this. I’ve got all the feels. Chad’s an absolute machine on those deliveries. This was the two largest @canadarobin.bsky.social and I ever did.

How it started How it’s going

5 years and 18,000 km later, and my eBullitt is still my favourite way to get around town. Looking forward to the next 5 years…

I love how people in Paris just casually bike through the Cour Carrée at the #Louvre.

Gotta love the cycling culture in Paris!

No, @googlemaps.bsky.social the best route to get from St Clair and Mt Pleasant to Front and Church is NOT to go straight down Mt Pleasant and then deke through Rosedale to Sherbourne. It would be to never get on Mt Pleasant in the first place

Back from a week in Paris, and was in awe of the cycling culture there. Stay tuned for more pictures of The Biking Vet’s appreciation of the Cyclists of Paris.

The Biking Vet’s ride got a glow up recently! A locking box to make medications, food, medical gear and, of course, cameras safer and more secure.

Heading down to Billy Bishop Airport this afternoon. Currently 24C and sunny. I’d ride anyway, but especially when riding will be faster and more fun!

The conference was terrific and afterward I rode back to Sudbury in a single push. My longest day of riding, 212 km. It was a terrific break from clinical practice, the weather was fantastic, and the trees were glorious. Thank you Northern Ontario. You are good for the soul.

During the golf tournament, I opted to ride a nearby logging road. I met a car on the road, and the kindly lady driving asked me if I was lost. She clearly questioned my sanity when I said, “nope. I’m having a great time.”

The next day we rode 85 km to the Laurentian Lodge, where the conference was held. We had lunch. Then felt restless, so rode to the end of the road.

The hotel in Spanish was questionable (the contents of the microwave were there when we arrived)

After dinner we walked down the the harbour and saw my first #ResidentialSchool. It was a sobering moment.

Last weekend I had to attend the Northern Ontario Vet Assn conference north of Elliot Lake. A friend of mine has made it a habit of riding from his house on Manitoulin Island to the conference every year. This year he said it might be his last. So I had to join him.

“I’m so sorry for pulling into the bike lane in front of you and cutting you off. To prove how sorry I am, I’ll apologize profusely and repeatedly. Will I move out of the bike lane? No, I won’t. I’ll just keep apologizing to convince you of my sincerity.” (I might be paraphrasing a bit)
