"Some advisers suggested limiting the height to 100 metres to preserve the view and contain costs. Prince Mohammed was unmoved. “It had to be 500m high and it had to be 200m across. That was all down to him,” said the planner."

500m is taller than all but less than a dozen skyscrapers globally.

Zero chance he proceeds down this list in any meaningful way. Not getting paid

Too bad his brain can't retain a thing except for grudges, because comparing this year's to last he'd discover the concept of shrinkflation as well. The price is down, but it looks like you get more than 25% less as well.

It looks like you guys just remembered you left the iron on at home.

Don't think this idea is advanced in any meaningful way at the moment, but what gets me is how casually and confidentially it was thrown out there by their CFO on stage in public, where she also said we lacked *exuberance* of all things. When else has that word been used! 🫧🫧

It's great voters had plenty of candidates to be enthusiastic about, but it was a CFB Saturday election night for the haters.

From Cuomo to Earle-Sears to book-banning school board members and all those that endorsed and donated millions to them, it feels just as good to see them eat shit tonight.

Dutch exit poll is out, and a big night for the centrist liberals D66, who may nip out far-right Wilders to take the lead in what may be another knotty government formation. However a dismal showing on the left tonight. Likely another right-wing cabinet that will fall apart again over migration.

When they cut to who was nominated, of all people, to be an ambassador.

It's the worst of the worst, just distilled down even more from his first administration.

And anytime I see irrational exuberance like this for a questionable firm in any industry that needs a lot of initial capital, R&D, and long lead times to get things to market, I feel the worst for the others in the industry doing good work, much like the effect of biomed investment after Theranos.

Of course this has an AI connection, Sam Altman's hyping and a direct, corrupt connection with the White House.

But I still can't get over that the valuation isn't some blackbox private valuation, but one being traded by institutional and retail investors as a public listing on the stock market.

Plenty of damage is done, but there's some small comfort in the fact they're so incompetent.

All these Cons thought they had a mandate with Trump's win, ushering a new era everyone was enthusiastically going to go along with. In reality they're just good at getting their hands on the levers of power, and the more strident they get, the louder people are telling them nah, we don't want that.
