It’s one of the worst mechanisms for crime ever created. It’s 100% traceable by anyone who has an internet connection and completely useless for anyone unless they turn it into a physical currency via a centralized exchange, at which point they’re caught and in jail. Criminals use cash.

You’re missing the point entirely. The left that won their elections focused on the economy, crime, and took border control seriously. Like it or not the overwhelming majority of Americans had those as their top 3 concerns.
