A clear plurality opposes U.S. airstrikes, few see Iran’s nuclear program as an immediate threat, and many are deeply concerned about the risk of a broader war. Even among Republicans and Trump supporters, support for strikes is mixed rather than dominant. Consensus: Avoid direct military action.
We asked 1,000 Americans if they support U.S. strikes on Iran. This is how they responded.
A one-day Washington Post poll shows only 25 percent of Americans support launching airstrikes against Iran over its nuclear program.
