Now watching THE PROUD AND PROFANE (1956). Timid scuzzball cinema with lofty aims. Swings between dopey sexism and turgid monologuing—there are wartime films made during the conflict that have far less of each. Holden's moustache owns the screen, tho. Commanding presence.
