William Dean presents the Bar Representation Cttee report to #BarCouncil - the BRC oversees member services. The Bar Representation Fee projections are positive but there is an overall long term trend of reduction. The BRF supports the work of the Bar Council, eg providing the court ID card scheme

In the Chief Executive's report Malcolm Cree tells #BarCouncil the consultation on next year's budget will launch next week. He notes some of the recent excellent media work by the Chair and thanks everyone who supported the Pupillage Fair as an exhibitor or CV clinic volunteer.

On @barstandardsboard.bsky.social performance, Prof Bones tells #BarCouncil there has been a significant increase in reports to BSB which means meeting timeliness targets is a challenge. BSB is taking immediate and longer term action to address these issues.

On the Harman report Prof Bones says BSB will listen carefully to the profession as it develops its response. He says they are already working with BTAS on improving tribunal performance and introduced trauma-informed practice. #BarCouncil
