‘Part 2 - Adding Hanging Rings to my Copper Foil Paintings’
I use flux to help the solder attach to the copper ring (otherwise the solder would just not stick to it) and then a blob of solder to attach the ring to the top of the already soldered frame.

Busy old day today copper foil framing and photographing paintings on vintage ephemera! Really pleased with the outcomes and think they look rather nice all thrown together (not literally!) with some old books and stuff.

My newest handcut linoprint of a sky full of soaring swallows. There aren’t many sights more joyful than this and it won’t be long before they’re back ☀️.
I have to say that the 300gsm paper INCREDIBLE! It was a dream to print on and feels so luxurious when being handled.

Loved painting this handsome guy 🦉 today ☀️. Painting in the sun does present its challenges but this lovely olivey green was a really great colour on which to build layers and tones.

For one reason or another, I haven’t been able to do collagraphs for ages (moving house, no printing press etc.) This really is my happy place, focusing on surface texture, getting that lovely architectural rustic feel and seeing what effects I can make to achieve the outcome I want.

Two little mice, probably up to no good, on vintage ephemera.
‘Map Mouse’ aka ‘Alfred Wainwright’ is climbing up a lovely old OS Lake District North East Sheet; the slightly waxy surface made this one a little tricky to take paint but once I got going, it became a fabulous surface to work on.
