Agree. Saying ‘human’ makes it seem like human existence and environmental destruction are two inextricable concepts. We can dismantle capitalism, colonialism, racism, and patriarchy, as these are evils upkept by the system and our compliance to it. They are not innate in human beings.

I do not know the answer to this - but it reminds me of the mast fruiting phenomenon; Robin Wall Kimmerer wrote about it in pecan trees.
