Most road cars have an open differential meaning just getting one drive wheel in the air (if it's not all wheel drive) is enough to completely immobilize it, as the power is sent to the wheel with the least friction.

Explosives forced them to surface, the issue is most explosives are rather limited in ammo.
I was using the loyalist which made easy work of them but I 100% see how anyone who didn't have or want to use that gun suffered
