This week’s Substack post is basically my ode to the fics that devastated me.

No editor. No agent. No budget.
Just me, Canva, and 8 re-uploads because I didn’t know how ISBNs worked.

And now I’ve published a whole 👏 damn 👏 trilogy👏

One of my fav things I built this year? a Substack Chat that unironically debates AI fanfic and also yells ‘IS ANYONE ALIVE RN?’ at midnight.

Come hang out 🤣

A woman writes a fantasy romance.
The internet mocks it for clout.
An aspiring writer sees that and decides not to publish theirs either.

🎶I think I've seen this film before🎶

I started my Substack with no plan. Just things I needed to say.

Now I’m ranked #26 in Fiction
This newsletter has become a home for the dwellings, fears, and hot takes I was too hesitant to put on social media.

Thank you to everyone who’s joined 🖤

(1/7) I didn't launch my Substack & hope people would care. I built something my audience was already asking for. That’s why it took off.
If you’re struggling to grow, it’s not a marketing problem, it’s a listening problem. Are you giving people what they want, or what *you* want?

"Are there too many books?" The Guardian asks, as if readers are complaining about too much choice. Traditional publishing still acts like it’s the only path, but self-publishing proves readers decide what succeeds, not gatekeepers. More books isn’t the problem, ignoring indies is. #indieauthors

came across Bill Bryson's take on the surge of self-publishing "it is just some anonymous person’s life and it is of no interest.” While I try to respect his perspective, it ignores how the rise of indie authors brings diverse voices to the forefront?? #selfpublishing #indieauthors
