As of Oct. 1, 2024, classrooms across Alabama have been navigating SB-129. In avoidance of terminating faculty for discussion or teaching of these “divisive concepts,” Auburn University has implemented a syllabus and course materials review.

Many college students grew up with a background of athletics, competing and being a part of a team. Coming to college can be scary for students who are worried they will lose the competitive outlet that they grew up loving.

From Oct. 3 to Oct. 5, AubFest hosted an estimated 1,200 attendees for its seventh edition at Boggin’ On The Plains. Tickets for the biannual festival’s largest year yet sold for $30 online and included access to camping, vendors and over 30 performances.

On Sept. 28, Opelika Police Department (OPD) responded to calls about graffiti in the downtown area. Over $2,500 in damages resulted, with buildings and vehicles being painted on. OPD is currently seeking more information about the suspects.
