Just a simple gay trying to make my way in the universe. I hope you all enjoy my naughty nerd art!
Like there’s so much more that can rightly be complained about, that is not one of them

Luke snatching the lightsaber from the fire is largely seen as a repudiation of what Johnson did with Luke but it’s more of a full circle moment and I have no idea how people miss that
December 15, 2025 at 8:03 PM
That was also a contributing factor

He set the production schedule and never really budged from it. Maybe if he allowed more time we could have gotten Arndt writing all three films. Instead we get a rehash of ANH that by most accounts was assembled on the fly because Abram’s and Kasdan had so little time to work with

People will blame culture wars, Kathleen Kennedy, Johnson, Abrams, Trevorrow and Terrio and you can of course critique their contributions but for me the problems that the whole trilogy suffered from stem from Iger
December 15, 2025 at 5:38 PM
I think people just don’t understand probably how much Carrie Fisher’s death fucked up the plans for Trevorrows script. That and the DotF script also being kinda ass guaranteed TRoS being what it was in the window of production time they had
December 15, 2025 at 5:26 PM
I never understood the more positive reaction the DotF script leak got over TROS. Rose and Finn were given a more substantial role, true, but everything dealing with Rey and Kylo just came off like garbage imo

Any chance you’d upload more play through videos?

Luke: Proceeds to undermine the legitimacy of his nephew and fellow baby fascists without lifting his sword, upholding everything the Jedi and his personal legend stand for.

Dumb take havers: left the theater and began posting dumb prequel memes like they’re higher art
June 10, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Like how is it, after near 8 years, people still end up taking the maladjusted baby fascists words as the take away lesson from that film and promptly ignore the following half hour?
June 10, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Which is such a dumb take because even after all it’s prodding and poking (which I do like) TLJ just reaffirms everything about Star Wars at the end.

Forever relevant

Fran Leibowitz put it as “he’s a poor man’s idea of a rich man” and Natalie Wynn extended it to him being like an average person blowing all their lottery winnings on gaudy shit. It’s the projection of the idea of wealth, and there’s a common man appeal to that

It brings me a small comfort that in the USA at least their finances will get as fucked as the rest of us
May 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
In my experience it’s not just the youth. Some of the older, white, cis, gay male demo have memory holed the last 20 years and have convinced themselves that none of this will come back on them

Unemployment is already starting. Source is myself, we were a huge importer of Chinese goods and we just went under. This is the canary in the coal mine for the fuck around, find out summer.

I was mentioning this to someone else earlier, Andor benefits from adding depth to what’s essentially a fairy tale. Some of the best Legends stories saw this same potential, like this is the whole reason Thrawn was so popular originally.
May 8, 2025 at 3:03 AM
I think it also misses that what makes Andor so great is that it adds depth to the fairy tale. Andor would still be a good show if it was standard sci-fi but I don’t think it would hit as hard culturally.

As in super generic stuff you can find for free anyways. Anything bespoke though? Forget it. I’d spend more time fixing what passable options it churned out when I could have done it myself in half the time.

As a designer myself I can confirm this, Adobe has been pushing its own LLM in its creative suite and the vector generation leaves a lot to be desired; snarled paths and weird groupings. The times I did use it I could only only count on it doing something akin to stock vectors
