i'm reserving being mad about it until the series ends with him still being dead. same with nayuta and power. we all really thought powy was gone here, too, used as little more than a prop to facilitate pochita's return, but we were all wrong by the end of the arc

seeing that tatsuki fujimoto drew rather understated-looking, non-moefied women with actual noses instead of tiny dots was the only reason i gave chainsaw man a shot when my friend recommended it to me. not a joke.

plenty of people also said "denji's finally healing" when this happened, too, the whole story's been a cycle of him in this spiral so i don't think it's unreasonable to guess that this isn't the end of it

This bit in particular. Augh. She's not threatening or scary, she's just agonizingly sad. The soft, detached, almost childlike delivery of the song made me want to sob. It hits so hard over and over that she's a victim just as much as Denji.

I've always held to it that Reze's cavalier attitude while fighting is her coping mechanism for trauma. It's laid on so thick in the movie, it turned my stomach.

In the manga, this reads more like Reze already starting her deception with Denji. But in the movie, it's so upsetting. It feels more like Reze having a full on panic attack when she comes face to face with the boy she's supposed to kill and she's Not Ready For it.
