Since 1950, The Arc of California has been promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
In a major victory for California’s disability community, Governor Newsom signed AB 341 into law. This landmark legislation, by Asm Dr. Joaquin Arambula, is a major step toward transforming how people with developmental disabilities receive dental care.

We are alarmed by recent rhetoric by the Secretary of the HHS, Robert Kennedy Jr., who publicly described autism as a “chronic disease,” or “epidemic,” & said people with autism will “never hold a job, write a poem, or go on a date.” Such language fosters stigma.
