At 68, stage 4 cancer is an almost guaranteed death sentence, particularly lung cancer. I'm still too weak to travel, and in my current state, I would be of little help at this time. I am just at a loss on how I could help her, and I'm frightened at the thought of losing her. Phuck. Just phuck.

Yesterday, death came knocking at my door again. The longest friendship I have goes back to a girl that I sat next to in the 6th grade. We had only found each other again online.

She told me yesterday that they have found stage 4 cancer in her lymph nodes. She is facing a liver biopsy in a week.

The losses were particularly profound, as they came while I was having horrific spinal surgeries. They'ld have been my shelter through the struggles I was facing. Their deaths made that 10X worse.

My Internet friends supported me through it all, and I remain grateful for their love, and friendship.
