Also known by my other account, ToFBeastie, this account is fully dedicated to my walk in Nature, rediscovering animism, and wandering beyond the shallow talk of today.
And because we are her, we should protect her, care for her, and cherish her.
For what are we without the Earth?
We would be less than the space dust that formed her bones long before we were given that chance to exist.

We are sewn together with molecules, viruses and bacteria.
Every drop of blood within us carries the cry, the laughter, the bellow, the scream and the roar of every ancestor that ever existed.
We are not merely from the earth. We are the earth.

What your mother consumed while you grew in her womb is now a part of you.
Every plant and animal of our past is embedded in the sinews of our flesh.
The smallest organisms entwined within our very cells.
We are not just flesh and bone but so much more.

In the end, as she shakes us off and resets herself again, we will only be a fossilized memory, lost to time as nothing more than a stain in the rings of old trees and the layers in soil. When we are gone, she will remember the scars, and never create such an abomination as humankind ever again.

Unlike all other life on this planet, we are aware that our actions are destructive, and have the means to correct ourselves. We choose not to. Instead, we consume. Sentient viruses. Intelligent parasites. We kill, we exploit, we manipulate, we destroy. All to satisfy our various hungers. (2/3)

And it made me think of our current situation. We should not be cowering in the shadows. We should not be trembling in the dark. We should be banding together, running together, singing joy in spite of the world trying to swallow us up in fear. I choose not to be tamed. I choose to be wild. (2/2)

I have not become Winter yet. Just as my life rose and thrived from birth to now, I know the settling down to my finality is just as important. The snow will someday fall, and I will not rise in Spring as I was. I will rise in other in other forms. And that brings me a peace of mind. (4/4)

I am now entering in the Autumn of my life. I have produced the fruits of my labors. I am more tired than before. But I am well-seasoned. I can bear storms better. I have others like me I lean upon for strength. And we hover protectively over the younger saplings as they find their roots. (3/4)

Summer was my adulthood. The time to be productive, to thrive, to grow and add branches of knowledge. To be fruitful with my mind, body, heart and spirit. It was a time of harsh tests as well. Droughts, severe storms, fires. I weathered through it, with scars, but stronger as a result. (2/4)

We should work to change self-preservation to something we all should be preserving as a species, the Earth. If we collectively collaborate for Her preservation, then perhaps we have a chance as a species. Otherwise we will be consumed by our own violent natures. And sadly we will deserve it. (9/9)

The question I have is can we change our violent natures as human beings? The only way I think we can begin is to first acknowledge that we are violent against each other and the Earth. Modern humans have no common goal outside staying alive. Which means we are all willing to commit violence. (8/9)

But the truth is, we are animals. We just try to avoid accepting that truth, like the many ugly truths buried within us all that most humans will not explore, let alone acknowledge the existence of. As a part of nature, we are violent. Violence is what has kept our species alive this far. (7/9)

We put it in neat little boxes with non-violent labels to justify it or at the very least, lesson our guilt in it. We change the written words so we don't have ownership of it as a species. We try to define it in a way as to make us seem as a non-violent species, that we aren't "animals." (6/9)

The violence of separating immigrant families. The violence of hate. The violence of fear. We have been in a constant state of violence from the beginning of our evolution. The only difference now is how we as modern humans try to sanitize it. (5/9)

When we see violence with weapons or by fists, we can easily see violence, and rise to condemn it. But what about violence not so easily defined? The violence of poverty. The violence of controlling a person's bodily autonomy. The violence of political and religious rhetoric. (4/9)

I drive a car and I type on a computer or cell phone. The resources gathered for these items also caused violence, from ecosystems full of plants and animals to even violence against humans in the form of exploited labor. To live a comfortable life, something or someone had to suffer violence. (3/9)

Loss of their own resources to survive by. Loss of life, even. I like food. It keeps me alive and healthy. But animals have to suffer violence so I can consume their flesh. Ecosystems suffer violence so that unnatural rows of produce and grains can be made to sustain me. (2/9)
