It's explicitly shown to be the former, and the latter doesn't cancel out the former either

and understanding. People getting mad that he didn't get enough compared to Pentious just feels like people not wanting Pentious to have anything. I really don't think anyone can take that stance without ignoring or genuinely not caring about Pentious' own vulnerability.

them is fake hug he initiated and catching him after he fell. No real hug or affection.
I hope you can understand why its infuriating when anyone takes the stance that Pentious is given favoritism.
Whether it was the writers' intention or not, it's really seems like Angel got much more support
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
more like a golden child when he gets to threaten and insult Pentious while Pentious is getting yelled at like them not getting along is his fault. Remember, Angel has a history of mistreating him before he even came to the hotel.
They don't even hug him, the only real touch he gets from
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
his trauma and what might trigger was an oversight.
Regardless, my main point is calling Sir Pentious a GOLDEN CHILD is absolutely insane. You have to be treated AT LEAST better than that to qualify.
There aren't any instances of him getting something Angel isn't unfairly- if anything, Angel's

episode isn't as negative as I'm making it out to be. I DO understand how stressed Vaggie (even though it's not an excuse), and I do understand that a few things I'm uncomfortable with have perfectly good explanations, like Charlie getting caught offguard by his crying. I hope them not caring for

discuss with her, he's essentially ignored when he starts crying, and when he shows signs of having genuine mental health problems, and I don't even want to talk the incident on the rooftop.
His behavior was a problem, but the above can use itas an excuse, at least not fully.
My opinion on the

with the most. He was completely brushed off when he expressed signs of trauma, and explicitly told them he felt unsafe and mistreated. He gets held to an unfair, higher standard than the others to get along with them, Vaggie makes a decision regarding his pets she didn't allow him to

than he does.
Did you guys even watch the very next episode?
Nowadays the fandom act like he's just cute everyone loves, and think it's always been that way, but it feels like people forgot what actually happens when he first joins the hotel.
Scrambled Eggs has always been the episode I struggle
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
It's primarily serves as a demonstration of his flaws, in a sympathetic way that doesn't make him out to be a good person. It's not just awwwww the poor baby.
But these aren't the things that make me the most angry. What makes me the most angry is claiming Sir Pentious gets treated better
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
My main point is, Angel Dust has been isolating himself from the others his entire stay, and that's
the root, or at least a big reason why, he acts and feels the way he does throughout the episode. The amount of blame he puts on Charlie, Vaggie, and Sir Pentious is supposed to be seen as wrong.
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
part that didn't get the time it needed. It has a lot implications for the plot as a whole, especially both of their arcs. But it feels like people miss it and that makes me sad. And it they treat their relationship like it essentially only exists to insult/hurt Angel Dust it makes me mad.
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
that docks Charlie some points, but I don't think he was communicating this to anyone, at least not at this point in the show. But also, Pentious is naturally connecting with Charlie on a very personal level, in a way the characters haven't been able to yet. This to me is another very important
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
because of the attention he's getting. The first one is valid, the second one is awful. Sir Pentious needs attention and validation just as much as Angel does. And he's getting it because he's actively engaging in the activity. Granted, maybe the play was making Angel too uncomfortable, and maybe

how much they put up with. Even though he knows he's not really using the hotel the way it's intended and he knows it, Angel's insecurities convince him that everybody's being against him, and his frustrations mount with Sir Pentious both because of how he thinks they shouldn't be trusting him and
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
That's what makes him not a real guest and just a dude who'd staying there.
Charlie had every right to express happiness when a real guest came to stay there. She didn't even expect Angel to get offended, and Vaggie calls him out for being offended, because that's honestly not fair to them with
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
have any intention to be a real guest. He wants to stay at the hotel to avoid Valentino. I'm not shaming that- the characters and show don't shame him for that- but that's what it is. That's the fact that people seem to be forgetting. Staying at the Hazbin Hotel means you're trying better yourself.
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
how I really feel about this without blasting you with 10,000 lazer beams that teleport you to Sir Pentious so you can apologize to him in person.
But, I will try to explain.
People do not interpret this episode correctly, genuinely.
Angel Dust has been saying the entire time that he does not
November 16, 2025 at 6:52 AM
So this is very long, I want to preface by saying you do not need to read or reply if you're comfortable with how long it is because I mostly wrote this for myself.
This infuriates me more almost anything in this entire planet. I genuinely don't have words, and I don't know how to express

weren't canon.)

justifiable reason to be lashing out- especially at Angel Dust. Did everybody just forget how he treats Own after seeing how Valentino treats him? Angel is not innocent baby.
(The pilot's not canon but nothing in their interactions is disproven by canon, so I feel it wouldn't make sense if they

to call someone who calls you names names?
This illustrates how important dedicating more time to their complex relationship, and how they became friends, was and how bad it is that they didn't get the time... But also I don't like people acting like Pentious doesn't have an at least partially
November 16, 2025 at 5:54 AM
What's confusing about it? He's acting like this because he's in danger being caught, but also, if you take their interactions in the pilot into account, Angel is essentially his schoolyard bully. He has very good reasons to hate him and not see him as a full person in this scene. Is it that weird
