I used to love the upvote/downvote system because it helped hide trolls but now it’s just used to downvote what you disagree with, so unpopular stuff gets hidden (and popularity doesn’t mean well thought out). This affects sports a ton because most fans are so reactionary.

It doesn’t make for better *football* but it does make for *beautiful* football. Big plays hit different in the snow. But admittedly, they are rarer.

I just think this is really reactionary. The Broncos defense has been gettable toward the end of the year. They’re very good, but they’re not better than the Texans and the Pats scored on them. I find it really unlikely the Pats don’t find 10 points through the rest of the game.

When the Jags cut him a few years ago without a clear replacement (which they didn’t find until this year), the best answer anyone could give was that he couldn’t consistently get touchbacks on kickoffs. That’s not really an issue anymore so I’m surprised he hasn’t had more of a chance.

Something I always have to remind myself is “If one team can go on a crazy run in the first half, the other team could go on a crazy run in the second half”. I think there was a Broncos-Chargers game or something where it went from 24-0 to 24-31 in the second half or something like that.

I don’t feel like this is an alien invasion, the signal feels like a species that survives (as a species) through reproduction. Like a deadly virus - it can’t live without it’s host but it kills its host. So the species survives by being contagious enough to spread faster than it dies.

It’s not even just about changing schools, the entire profession is about convincing kids to tie their future to this school that really just cares about how these kids will give *them* success. And they’ll say whatever lie they need to in order to get what they want. It’s necessary to succeed.
