As an aside, the MOMMIE DEAREST scenes in last year's doc FAYE are pretty heartbreaking to watch, whether you love the film or not. But Faye herself felt it was disastrous to her reputation.

I was so shocked that I checked out different versions of the script -- this draft was even more blatant that 1985 Hill Valley hates actual science

Where are my freaks at? The ones down with ultra-gross out comedy?

Cause this is a great one. In LA for a few more days, traveling around after that.

Love you, buddy.

I'm so grateful we got to cross paths in this life from a cat circus in North Hollywood to the Bass Pro Shop pyramid in Memphis as you criss-crossed the country writing more forever-pieces that people of the future will read to make sense of right now.

This is the Kaleb Horton piece that deserved to make him the defining voice of today. He was an poet, a comic, and a cultural anthropologist who understood America on a soul-deep level.

It's his 2016 road trip to the Constitution Party's election convention in Utah.

Happy 50th birthday to DOG DAY AFTERNOON.

It's a good time to rewatch.

This doc is incredible.

An intimate portrait of Kanye's grand scale self-immolation. Tragic and mesmerizing.

And it's barely playing -- try to see before it's gone.

Do I like this weekend's new releases? Not really.

Do I think it's kinda effed that AMC is so swamped with Taylor Swift traffic that it's telling audiences they have to buy movie tickets for tonight at the theater? Totally.

Surprise Joni Mitchell! For my queen Cyndi Lauper's farewell tour at the Hollywood Bowl!

(They sang "Carey" twice in a row cause why not)

Hard to remember that 25 years ago, no distributor would buy this movie because they didn't think audiences would get it.

New ep gets into how Steven Soderbergh was so spooked that MEMENTO went unsold that he said indie cinema was dead back in the year 2000.

The most quotable comedy I saw last year at Fantastic Fest is FINALLY in theaters.

Paul McCartney. Steve Wonder. Bickering about hot chocolate.

This movie is for freaks -- the kind of freaks who are my people

Ok, so how cool were this summer's big movies?

Maybe the podcast of two people doesn't amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans.
