I don't really disagree, I would say only that those kinds of private moments, once broadcast, inevitably take on a normative quality- more so at a time when there's a major push on to identify this issue as one for which everyone is guilty and must be reformed. Context makes billboards of us all.

In the past few years I've taken my two on a plane and driven them cross-country twice. I think if I tried this they'd assume we were joining a space program.
