You would be surprised by how often the turds float to the top of FBI leadership. The basic reason is that the best job in the Bureau is that of agent. Second best is field supervisor. Anything above requires a lot of moving and paper pushing for not much more money so ego is the main driver.

Absolutely. I was reading that often Presidents have given pardons to folks, often posthumously, that were charged under some Jim Crow laws and their criminality was essentially a hoax. Doubtful he would care about her if she couldn’t hurt him, but he does seem to have a soft spot for sex offenders

Not one of your best takes. If he truly believed it was a hoax, which he doesn’t, pardoning someone in prison for it would make sense.

Do you ever run your ideas by an actual lawyer? Trump and the US Government are immune from defamation suits made in their official capacity under the doctrine of sovereign immunity. You then may ask what about E.Jean Carroll? Trump’s defamatory statements were outside of his official capacity.

Not to ruin your outrage, but when I was an FBI agent we did proffer interviews almost every day. Represented Defendants won’t talk if you can use what they against them directly. You can use information in proffers to develop new leads…even leads that help convict the defendant.

Talking from actual experience, 1 & 2 should always happen under all circumstances. 3 is rare (at least in the districts I worked).

We have the greatest shit show of my life going on…a usually responsible department of justice And federal law enforcement going rogue shitting on everything that got credit with jurors …just terrible, embarrassing and indeed, humiliating for those of us who swore the oath and took it seriously.

These aren’t ICE agents, they are FBI agents. If they are really arresting a US Citizen for an immigration violation, that would be deeply disturbing. If they are arresting him for a true Federal crime and he has a seizure, then medical emergencies, real and fake do happen during arrests.

FBI management put us precarious positions during the BLM protests because most of our training is in deadly force, not crowd control. As the article mentioned, these agents were trying to diffuse a situation which, could have led to deaths. The agents would be left out to dry by the Bureau.
