In the excellent Netflix documentary, “Mr. McMahon” the pro-wrestling-ification of politics is discussed in the last episode, with its ultimate conclusion being the re-election of a media master of the kayfabe (a pro wrestling term). Watching this doc is disturbing but helps it all to make sense.

Mainstream media normalized Trump because he was great for ratings. What they didn’t count on is viewers being exhausted with the endless clown show. Now no one wants to watch anymore. And their money machine just sputters to its inevitable conclusion. Good.
