Man, that NE corridor is just nutty.
I’ve had capping happen on quite a few flights over the years. Is tunneling a version of that with multiple aircraft involved?

More common with small planes, not as common with airlines due to fuel issues. Guessing ATC was at capacity around the NYC metro and they could sneak out at the lower altitude. Just looked at flight aware…they did eventually get higher.

And woo!!! Laundry room and utility room sensors are almost instant now. It’s so nice to push through the door with a full laundry basket and the lights blaze to life immediately. 🤓
