Can't imagine the high of logging on to post this, then seeing what else just happened today.

Lol chill dude. At no point did I say I endorse this tactic.

Correct. 300 characters wasn't enough to add the asterisks that I find this tactic loathsome, craven, and shortsighted.

Dems are just playing their part in the Ratchet effect.

Another reason it's a terrible idea.

You can only run the "We're not the other guys" playbook when you're not actively in power like Biden was. UK Labour had the benefit of setting themselves against the party of Liz Truss and other Tory disasters.

That's why it didn't work this time but probably will after 2 years of Trump.
February 22, 2025 at 3:34 PM
Who just tried?
February 22, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Yeah pretty much. Trump won by activating low info, low turnout voters who won't show up in the midterms. Dems know this, and are deciding to do absolutely nothing while they bank on Republican own-goaling. Basically running the UK Labour gambit.

Still baffled that they outright called them "meme" coins.

I thought that was just a disparaging nickname, but I guess it's a legit term?

Does it dive into the dark sides or McKinsey or is it just PR?

We already did the "debating a joke" thing. You can catch the highlights here tho.

Alright fine, I'll let this drag me into sincere discourse.

The difference between this and other crush events(CEs) is still religious. CEs for secular events are engineering fails. You can pick a better venue or design your established venue to better accommodate crowdflow. Religious events...

I'm not defining anything lol I'm just riffing cuz you were being pedantic and wasn't interested in the debate you were trying to start.
January 29, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Being dumb as shit is America's state religion.
January 29, 2025 at 9:06 PM
I kindly refer you back to my thesis of "this wouldn't be happening if religion wasn't telling people to swim in The River that Kills You"
January 29, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Aaaand who's fault is it that 400 million people are all drawn to one random stream?

*tips fedora*

... like this are forcibly (and if you ask me, arbitrarily) designed around these holy sites that were never intended for such volume. You can't just find a different river, so you're forced into this venue and into the inevitable downstream tragedies (no pun intended)

Once again, I am vindicated by trusting to vibes and waiting for somebody else to check.

Don't make me Google the relative death tolls of this event versus black Friday for the past five years.

(Seriously, don't. I don't care and it sounds like work.)
