We were the typical brother and sister annoy each other. I still do from time to time. But as we became adults we formed a very different and special bond. Lately she been sending me instagrams of how proud she is of me and how she loves me. And man does that mean the world coming from her.

And I think that’s the hardest part about seeing your parents get older. Especially if you have a good relationship with them. You realize you’ll always need them and always be chasing what they did. Idk man. I’m ranting. Saw some emotional stuff and it really hit me.

Idk man. I say I want to be “better” than he was a lot. But I realize I’m chasing a ghost. Because he truly was the best in so many ways. And as much as I know I don’t need his or anyone’s approval, I’m still trying to make him proud.

So much of me is my Pop. Which is a blessing and a curse. But I’m learning to improve on the “bad”. I’m learning to understand that maybe he was just brought up so different and he just never knew different.
