Hi! Holly is my name and sewing bras and other things is my game. Also currently working at making good gluten free sourdough
Another #gsdiscoveryjacket in the works this time in non stretch neoshell from #discoveryfabrics for my mother. I’m binding the seams and making the pockets for this one out of quilting cotton my mothers cousin gave me from her company. I thought it would add a nice personal touch #sewingforothers

I made the new #greenstylecreations #discoveryjacketpattern out of red neoshell and wanted to add some reflective patches so I decided to try and get comfy with the maple leaf again. All supplies (except zipper) used to make the jacket are from discovery fabrics (the designer and jacket namesake).

Sourdough isn’t for the impatient or people with very little time but I’ll be darned if this gluten free #sourdough pizza crust isn’t the best gluten free pizza crust I’ve had in eons. Only took about 30 hours from start to finish 😂

Another week another lingerie set. I used three Wednesday cheeky kits from Emerald Erin to make these as I really wanted this lace but it wasn’t sold by the yard and I supplemented them with findings from the stash. Patterns used are: #joseybrapattern modified #thursdaythong and #wednesdaycheekies

Josey refit complete. I seriously love this pattern, it’s probably the best drafted and closest to ready to wear (in terms of design and grading quality) bra pattern that is available. If you’re in the Josey or Josey plus size range I highly recommend it #bramaking #brafitting

More GF #sourdough bread baking. I’m not ready to give up on the sourdough yet as I like making it even if it might cause some stomach issues due to the fermentation. I converted the honey sesame loaf from the book The Elements of baking by Katrina Cermelj and the other is a 100% teff loaf recipe

I thought I’d post a video showing the stretch difference between a cup underarm being reinforced with stay tape vs one that hasn’t been reinforced just to illustrate the difference. This is a great option for those that have issues with loose upper bands in their homemade bras #bramaking #sewing

Any other GF or regular #sourdough bread bakers out there find they love the process but get stomach aches from the bread? I know I don’t have issues with the psyllium husk as my regular GF bread recipes call for it and my stomach is fine with those. Sigh, a lot of work and wasted flour for this

Currently working on re-fitting the #joseybrapattern as my cup size has increased a bit over the last year thanks to perimenopause and I’ve been putting off making the changes. I’m still using the fabric remains of this very generous kit from Bwear #bramaking #brafitting

I think we’re finally getting into a routine with puppy life. The puppy and the man go to bed at 2200 and I head to my sewing room to finally get some sewing done 😂

Someone decided she needed to become a pothead at 13 weeks old by eating someone’s discarded butt on a walk without us noticing and then making us drive 1.5 hours each way on a stat holiday to the emergency vet. I have a feeling she hasn’t learned her lesson #lagottoromagnolo

Anyone else coming here from insta and having a hard time with only being able to add 4 pics and the low word count? Anyways here’s an #annieandmyraspatterns #Bettebra and #orangelingeriepatterns #kingstonthong for Valentine’s Day. The thong ended up too small due to lack of stretch 😑 #bramaking

Things that have kept me busy the last few days while I try not to think about the world burning down around us. Double Chocolate GF #sourdough which was a fun thing to test but not my favourite, another lemon blueberry GF sourdough loaf this time for my mom, and puppy life with Ripley.
February 17, 2025 at 7:55 PM
One size down in the free dog coat pattern from #closetcorepatterns fits Ripley a lot better with room to grow though I don’t think she was too sure about it. Now to add the Velcro! #sewing

Quick and dirty test version of the #closetcorepatterns dog coat for my 12 1/2 week old Lagotto puppy Ripley. Needless to say it’s too big right now but hopefully it will fit for the coming spring rain season. Beaver printed softshell because #canada

And just to keep up posting the #sewing content I’m not shocked that I’ve managed to keep my sewing room neat -this pile is as bad as it gets. Why? Because #perimenopause is sapping my joy of sewing recently. I sit in here intending to sew but barely turn on the machines. HRT here I come (I hope)

More GF #sourdough : I didn’t have much hope for this one as it looked underproofed and didn’t have much oven spring but this might be a new favourite loaf: blueberry lemon. Still not sour despite a decently long cold proof and the addition of lemon zest but so yummy and soft #glutenfree

I’m turning into a GF sourdough nerd. I bought a $15 sourdough from the local GF bakery to compare it to mine. The bakery loaf was a lot more sour and had a smaller ingredient list. I liked the more sour flavour but I prefer the texture of mine. My starter is still young though -about a month old.

My first attempt at converting a regular yeasted recipe to sourdough. This is the honey sesame loaf from the book “The elements of Baking: making any recipe gluten free, dairy free, egg free and vegan” by Katrina Cermelj. It just came out of the oven and it looks amazing but I think I over baked it.

I finished the set! First sewing project complete after a few week break. #joseybrapattern for the bra and the #contouratelier #highburyknickerspattern for the matching bottoms. I printed out a new Josey pattern and accidentally reduced the underarm too much so I’ll have to fix that for the future.
February 7, 2025 at 3:38 AM
What I’ve been up to the last few days to keep my mind off of doom scrolling: more bread, this time a seedy fibre filled loaf (GF) made with my other starter, matching underwear for my bra, watching my new puppy play in the snow!
February 4, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Are you a bra maker who has issues with too loose underarm/upper back bands? I swear I tried all the “fixes” for this that are touted in the #bramaking community. Then I took apart a few RTW bras from different brands and realized they all had stabilized underarms. Give this a try, it worked for me.
February 3, 2025 at 2:19 AM
I’m trying to document the bra sewing process more. So here is just the fabric pieces alone that go into the 4 part cup of the #joseybrapattern Then you add specialty elastics, seam tape, rings and sliders and the hook and eye. #bramaking #sewing

Working on a new #joseybrapattern as I try and plan how I can make my exit from all meta platforms #bramaking #brafitting
