I've said for a while that one of the reasons underlying the desire to come out of ECHR is that it would clear the way for capital punishment reintroduction. Rupert Lowe has been more transparent than others in coming straight out with it but the exact same idea is shared with other ECHR haters.

My point was that he still got to be President in 2025 despite the documentary airing before the election in 2024. On that basis his claim of reputational damage is spurious.

Article said the stipend would be several times the value of the Navy pension. Let's say 3x. Plus the 20k pension. So a mere 80k per year. From next year he will be able to claim state pension as well - and I bet he will.

Another enabler of leaving ECHR is ability to reintroduce UK death penalty. I believe this is an undeclared aim of Reform UK.

Also I'm keeping tabs on how frequently the various parties are represented on QT. Reform currently ahead of Lib Dems and Greens. Last time I looked Lib Dems have a much greater party representation in HoC. So why do we see so much of Reform on QT?

Dorries referenced leaving ECHR several times. This is similar to the rest of her Reform cabal. Reform are being opaque on why they want to leave: one of the possible reasons is that it would enable reintroduction of capital punishment.

That was the first time I viewed the link. Harrowing account. She referred to friend Tiffany as witness so presumably there is hope this can be corroborated and prosecuted one day.
