Earth Month Spotlight 🌎

Last summer, the SCA’s Olympic National Park Backcountry Trail Team worked alongside NPS staff, building bridges and turnpikes, retreading eroded and deteriorating trails, clearing brush and fallen trees, and creating memories for a lifetime.

Young Apple Trees Spring To Life In Northwest Indiana!

Last summer, the SCA's Delta Institute Community Forestry Crew planted and maintained 806 trees at six sites across the region, including two community apple orchards.

For 10 years, the PA Outdoor Corps has provided youth and young adults with paid opportunities to gain competitive career skills through a partnership with the @padcnr.bsky.social

Special tree-livery! 🌳

Last week, our Bay Area Urban Green program partnered with Arbor Day Foundation, Amazon and Hayward Parks and Rec to plant trees at Bidwell Park in Hayward, CA.

Over 50 volunteers planted 25 trees and removed 65 cubic feet of debris from the park!

Liz Putnam founded the SCA in 1957!

Her pioneering idea to put young people to work for the planet produced generations of conservation leaders and launched a movement that predates the Peace Corps, the EPA and even Earth Day.
