QRP CW, Part 15 AM broadcasting, ham homebrew, being careless with superglue and suffering the consequences. QRP/radio please and no politics. Thank you.
There's something about the homebrew ethos and aesthetic that I really like. I've been tempted to design a milled front panel for this SST-20 scratch-build, but Dymo labels and felt pen on bare aluminum have a certain je ne sais quoi.
Plus, it's cheaper :-)
1W from this is still getting me places.

Before I even knew what it was, I liked the look too Tom. Even if I get a new rig one day, like you, I'll hang onto this one. Sometimes, you have so much time invested in a piece of gear, parting with it just seems wrong 😆
PS - cat Dad here too, as evidenced by the shirt I have on right now :-)

Dagnabbit, I wish I needed a new rig, as a KX3 or KX2 would be dead spiffy. Trouble is, with the exception of general coverage, my 13 year-old K2 has everything I need in an HF transceiver. Who said that ham radio is an expensive hobby? This plucky little radio just keeps on chugging!
