Gone Girl (2014) (Rewatch)

Been a solid 9 years since I last saw this movie, and holy fuck I forgot how demented these two protagonists are. So many twists and turns with biting dark humor. Was locked in for the whole ride Shame I haven’t really seen much more of Rosamund Pike since this.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Lured me in with the silly premise and the reliably entertaining Majima, got me comfortable with the side quest routine, then wound up its story with one final gut punch. Too reliant on padding, but doesn’t change the fact that I had a damn good time

Speak No Evil (2024)

Secondhand discomfort personified. Definitely spends a bit too much time building itself up, but has a satisfying enough release. Not a particularly revolutionary movie, but hard-carried by an engrossing performance from James McAvoy.

Dynasty Warriors Origins

This game has consumed me. Refines the Musou formula to a fine sheen and presents a scale never before felt. Combine that with a focus on story and characters I never thought I’d actually care so deeply about thanks to Three Houses style delivery, and I’m here for it

Silent Hill 2

As a SH newbie, just wow. Truly poignant, powerful, stuff. It wrapped me up in its embrace as gently as the fog rolling over the town, and before I knew it I was completely enamored. This story will stick with me for years to come. Also doesn’t hurt that the OST is sensational

Lost Judgment

RGG really swung for the fences with the story, and while not as strong as the original, it still hits hard. Pair that with the most fleshed out the action combat has ever felt in the series, the absolutely transcendent music and the robust world, and we’ve got another winner
