Twitter is a privately held company owned by Elon. It is worth whatever he says it is. With other private companies, there is some debt or some other investor that has to agree at least somewhat with the primary owner’s valuation. Not in Twitter’s case. It’s worth exactly what only Elon says it is.

Layoffs flattened in 2023-2024 within a general upward trend post 2020.
Layoffs were not at a peak, clearly. To say they were higher than in the great depression is disingenuous in the extreme, bordering on propaganda.
