I switched to Qobuz. It sounds great! There's a simple tool to import your faves and playlists. Do the free trial and let me know how it goes?

He name checks Fredericksburg in this brilliant piece. I believe this actual story occurred after he'd been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He's called a prophet, which is not such a far-fetched take - once you hear what he was really on about. Tool were inspired by some of his bits, incidentally.

No, Northern NM. I just picked Marfa cuz it's cool and seems dark at night. Kerrville maybe?

We don't have much light pollution. Pointed almost due north. More visible tomorrow apparently. You could field trip to Marfa!

Sliwa reminds me of peak 80's vigilante, and by that I mean Chuck Bronson, and by that I mean this scene from Death Wish 4, which is neck-and-neck with Crispin Glover's work in Wild at Heart in terms of lunch-themed cinema:

You can use it like any modern screen tech, wired like a it is a computer monitor etc. Or use a casting stick over HDMI, or whatever latest form connector is hip these days.

Projectors can be every bit as good, or better, as any other current tech. They are not cheap, or particularly efficient, and may generate more heat than some of us are comfortable with. Being able to adjust screen size to a space is enticing tho, innit?

"Cast" in that sense means to send the video and audio to another device, usually a smart TV, which is usually part of a home entertainment system with good audio as well.

"I thought you were the party of peace..." This is the crux of the bullying and abuse. They bought the lies that we who practice peace are weak, we who don't bark or bite can't. The rhetoric dehumanizes us, yet fully human we are. Don't fuck with humans. We tolerate you, not the other way around.

Swans have been loud AF for so long they must have mastered it! I'd have been forgiving of audio issues knowing bands may ask for super loud + he was new, but dude didn't register and fix things. Modern PA/consoles are cheat codes IMHO. Know the gear, use your ears, and give a shit. Everyone wins.

Earpeace last night, but at those levels they only protected. Sounded like shit with and without them. Usually they are very comfortable while helping intelligibility, but the 35dB foam variety would have been the same. I am now looking for next upgrade, maybe custom or active. Will report.

That's a no from me dawg. Pete was inaudible, PA far too loud, subwoofers were abused. Painfully loud and my companions were miserable. We all had pro ear protection. All nuance was lost. I didn't get to talk with them but I know their usual FOH didn't travel on this tour. Kula were good tho!

I know! I was going to ask you before the Houston show if y'all were going, but didn't. Because of course you were! 😆 This was The Bridge at Santa Fe Brewing, where I coincidentally went the first time last week for a festival sound gig.
